The bar is loud, and Kate looks like she's about ready to pass out at any moment. Scaling the stairs to get to her room isn't high on her list of Things To Do right now, but with a little encouragement from Bela she manages to get up as far as the second landing before she has to stop and sit down.

Her mind is reeling, her body is shaking, and though this isn't the most private of settings, it is at least much quieter. In a minute or two, she'll be able to think about getting up and walking the rest of the way to her room.

Not too long after their first practice session riding and shooting, after Kate had found out about Bela's run-in with a demon in the Bar, she had decided to keep an extra careful eye on her new friend. She was worried about the bruises on Bela's forearm, as they were disturbingly reminiscent of the bruises she had once received from one Trout Walker out in her world.

So, she invited Bela to her room to go over Bela's design books one last time and get the room put together, and share a 'modern' meal Doc had introduced her to.

Sitting on the floor with design books spread all around them and an open box of pizza at their feet, we find our two protagonists, engaged in some much needed girl talk.
