Miss Katherine Barlow lived in the town of Green Lake, Texas, in the latter part of the 19th century. The town was named for the lake it was built beside, both owned by the wealthy Walker family. Miss Katherine was the town's only schoolteacher, locally famous for her striking beauty, wit, and prize-winning spiced peaches. Night classes were often filled with young men who were more interested in the teacher than in any form of education. One such prospective suitor was Charles Walker, heir to his daddy's fortune and known as 'Trout' due to the horrendous smell of his feet. Miss Katherine's schoolhouse was run-down and decaying. Sam, an onion peddler who had found local fame for the healing properties of the many poultices and panaceas he sold, offered to help fix the building up. The two struck a deal, and after a few months of work the schoolhouse had become a town treasure. Sam and Katherine's friendship had also blossomed into love, and that shared affection eventually led to a kiss. But there was a problem. The laws of the time classified their courtship as criminal, as Katherine is white and Sam is black. They were seen kissing, and a mob led the next day by the jilted Trout Walker stormed the schoolhouse, burnt it to the ground, and called for Sam's execution. Because this was supported by local law, Sam was ultimately killed when he and Katherine tried to flee. Three days later, Katherine took her revenge and killed the sheriff who refused to protect Sam. In time, she became a bandit known as "Kissin' Kate," due to her practice of kissing the men she robs and kills. For twenty years she was the most fearsome outlaw in all of Texas. Green Lake, however, was plagued with drought; it won't rain for more than one hundred years after Sam's death, thus rendering the town — and Kate's ultimate nemesis, Trout Walker — completely destitute. Kate Barlow dies laughing.		Name: Miss Katherine "Kissin' Kate" Barlow Location: Texas, USA, in the late 1800s. Though canon is never specific about dates, I've worked out that her date of birth was sometime in 1865; she's currently being played from 1888, which makes her approximate age 23. Physical Attributes/Appearance: Kate stands at 5'1, weighing approximately 115 lbs. Canonically, she has strikingly pretty features — long blonde hair, blue eyes, a soft southern accent, and occasionally deadly red lips. Unless otherwise specified, Kate is always wearing: her guns (a Colt SAA .44 WCF, 7 1/2" barrel and a S & W Safety Hammerless .32WCF/.38 colt, approx. 3 1/2" barrel); cowboy boots; and a metal anklet in the shape of a snake eating its own tail (hidden). Her attire changes (ex.:Pre-Outlaw; Post-Outlaw; and sometimes a mix). Occupation/Special Skills: A former schoolteacher with a propensity towards English, well-educated, witty, and sharp; often patient, but with a short fuse when she feels threatened. She currently works as co-manager of the Milliways stables (questions about the stables/stock can be directed here, or to Doc Scurlock). She's an average human female, though her canon deals heavily with "curses."If you have a pup who can sense curses or magic, feel free to use that while threading with Kate (the anklet and guns she wears are heavily endowed with magic). Otherwise, she's fairly normal, generally affable, a hard worker, and an accomplished gunslinger. In Milliways, Kate is currently midway through canon. She has left Green Lake, and her story picks up from there. She will be played following the novel's canon, although the film is so similar some elements (such as her pb) will be used from both.
