There's blood everywhere.

The sky is blood.

Tommy's there. She's clawing through biting things, crawling things, dead things, blood and corpses and stench to the sound of his voice. He's bleeding, covered in soot and ash, reaching out his hand to her


but it melts away.

He erupts into flames.

...Kate, wake up...

Her wrist is caught in something, and the sheer panic from that makes her eyes fly open. She sees him, limned in twilight, but it still takes several more seconds before she realizes she's awake. It was a nightmare.




She bursts into tears, and slowly sags against him.
