He looks down at his hands a moment, and has a deep breath.

"First I want to apologize for being such a fool, and for lying to you when I should have just said something. It was my mistake and was not fair to you."

Doc has been thinking over this conversation for awhile now.

"Second I want to apologize for not treatin' you proper. I promised you that I would and I failed to do that. You deserved better from me and I'm sorry for letting you down."
