She carefully perches on the edge of the tub, her back to the godforsaken window letting in obnoxiously blissful daylight. Every morning she wakes up like this she swears off liquor forever, which is why drinking nonstop had been working out so well the past week.

She winces. If she didn't look so peaked, she might even blush.

"I  —  I hafta be honest, I'm havin' trouble rememberin' everythin', but I think it's safe t'say I acted outta line. An' I'm sorry. I reckon I've lost your esteem, an' rightly so."
