After spotting Ramon through the window Bill is proceeding with caution He doesn't see Ramon when he steps out onto the porch, so he heads towards the stables knowing that's where Doc and Kate are, and hoping that's not where Ramon's gone.

He wishes like hell he had more in his hands than a stuffed hedgehog, or someone else with him, but his guts are telling him to get out and warn Doc and Kate.

The sudden crack of gunfire makes him jump and his heart leaps into his throat.

He breaks into a run, panic clawing at his insides as the air continues to thunder with gun shots.

They stop before he gets there.

When the stables come into sight he sees Ramon step out. Bill's mind finally shouts out above the adrenaline and he slides to a stop. Ramon is armed and has already nearly killed Bill once.

Doc and Kate could be dead or dying in the stables, but there's no way Bill can go in there now without getting himself killed.

Gritting his teeth he turns and runs back to the bar for security, praying that he gets back in time to help Doc and Kate.
